Budha Dal Public School
History

Budha Dal Public School was founded by the Chief of Budha
Dal, Singh Sahib, Jathedar Baba Santa Singh Ji. The School was established on May 06,
1984. It started with 15 students and today has over 2400 students on its rolls. The
School was upgraded to the +2 level in 1989 and is now, a full fledge Senior Secondary
School. Presently, the School is being run by the Sikh Educational Society Shiromani Budha
Dal.
Aim

The School aims to provide quality education to the students and inculcate in them the
spirit of being enterprising and responsible. The School lays special emphasis on the all
round development of the child thus enabling them to excel in all fields at the national
and International level, by working with dedication, honesty and sacrifice. Through a wide
range of co-curricular activities, the School nurtures the creativity of each child and
encourages them to be confident of their actions.

Admission

Normally,
admissions take place only in Nursery during the months of January to February. Admission
to classes other than Nursery is considered, depending upon the vacancies in each class.
Students seeking admission in to classes other than Nursery, are required to give an
entrance test, scheduled to be held in the last week of January. Students are required to
appear in major subjects, like- English, Mathematics, Science and one Indian language,
Hindi/Punjabi. Admissions are made strictly on the basis of merit, depending upon the
availability of seats.
Withdrawal

Parents wishing to withdraw their child from the school, are required to give a
written application three months in advance. All dues must be cleared, before the issue of
the school leaving certificate.
Co-curricular
Activities

All the students, right from class I upwards are required to participate in these
activities. The activities are as a matter of fact not thrust upon the students but the
students themselves choose them according to their aptitude. Every year, the students are
given an option to change their activities. This has proved very beneficial and there are
encouraging reports that the students instead of wasting their time and energy keep
themselves busy in these activities, even after school hours. Activities are as follows :-

House System

The School divided into four Houses :
(1) Baba Ajit Singh House
(2) Baba Jhujar Singh House
(3) Baba Zorwar Singh House
(4) Baba Fateh Singh House
These names signify the importance of the four Princes of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the
sacrifices made by them. Through various inter-house activities, a healthy spirit of
competition and loyalty is encouraged among the students.
Student Appointments

To promote qualities of leadership, self reliance and co-operation among the students,
a system of student appointments is introduced. The School Head Girl,Head Boy and School
Captain are the senior most appointments. They are responsible for maintaining the
discipline of the School at all times.
Each house has a House Captain, aided by House Prefects and a House Mistress. They
together look after the daily activities of the House
Curriculum

The School is a affiliated to the C.B.S.E. and follows the syllabus prescribed it.
Education is imparted from Nursery to class XII.
The School offers three streams for the Senior Secondary students, namely:
1. Medical Science
2. Non-Medical Science
3. Commerce.
Computer Education is imparted from class I onwards. Special emphasis is placed on the
teachings of the Sikh Gurus and the essence of Sikhism

O- above 90%
A- above 80%
B- Above 70%
C- above 60%
D- above 50%
E- above 40%
Promotion

The School has a system of continuous evaluations. Monthly and terminal tests are
conducted through out the year. Promotion to the next class depends on the cumulative
achievements of the student, during the academic year.
